Young Alaskans Building Affordable Housing

YABAH is a job training and education program for Alaskans aged 16-24, based on the YouthBuild program model, a national program that uses construction and secondary education as a means to improve the community. Young Alaskans Building Affordable Housing (YABAH) is designed to provide its members vocational training, academic education, limited case management, career counseling, life skills, and post-program support. The program also aims to assist the community by making affordable housing more available.

YABAH received funding to move back to Sitka,
in conjunction with the Southeast Alaska Career Center, Baranof Island Housing Authority, and Pacific High School! We are recruiting for one more AmeriCorps Assistant for the 2008 season, so feel free to check out our current openings!
