AmeriCorps is a National Corps of capable, committed individuals that serve to meet our country's needs in
education, public safety, health, and the environment. AmeriCorps members serve with more than 3,000 nonprofits,
public agencies, and faith-based and community organizations around the country.
Since 1994, more than 400,000 men and women have
provided needed assistance to millions of Americans across the nation through their AmeriCorps service.
All
AmeriCorps
placements include an Education Award upon successful completion of service, as well as Student Loan Deferment,
and childcare assistance- if eligible. Also, AmeriCorps members receive living stipends dependant on their service
placement, as well as the option to receive medical benefits.
